President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Elon Musk will work with Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“Together, these two outstanding Americans will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, cut redundant regulations, reduce wasteful spending, and restructure federal agencies – essential to the ‘Save America’ movement,” Trump’s statement said.
Musk, the world’s richest man, was a key Trump supporter during this election. Entrepreneur Ramaswamy ran against Trump during the primaries and later announced his support for Trump.
“DOGE will provide advice and guidance outside of government and will work with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to drive massive structural reforms and establish an unprecedented entrepreneurial approach to government,” Trump said in the statement.
