On June 19, 2024, at least 18 people were killed and 42 injured in three successive explosions in the town of Gwoza in northeastern Nigeria, 19 of whom were taken to hospital for serious injuries.
The suicide attack reportedly took place at weddings, hospitals and funerals. In recent years, the jihadist group Boko Haram has repeatedly committed violence in the region. At the moment, the group has not claimed responsibility for the aforementioned attacks.
