In the early morning of June 3, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture in central Japan.
According to reports, the earthquake was shallow and had an epicenter depth of 14 kilometers. Wajima City and Suzu City in Ishikawa Prefecture felt the strongest tremors, and several aftershocks followed.
