ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Faculty, students and their families gathered Thursday night at West View Elementary School to “Travel Around the World.”

Students showcased a country and its culture with sweet treats, crafts and relative gadgets and gizmos.

“I think it’s good to have the students see themselves be represented in the school,” West View Elementary principal Sarah Craig says. “I know that we are working on forming a more diverse workforce, you know we are trying to beef that up as much as we can here. But in the meantime, this is a really great way that they can kind of experience their own culture and share who they are a little bit.”
