On May 22, five people were killed and about 50 injured when a stage collapsed during the election campaign of the Civic Movement Party in the city of San Pedro Garza Garcia, in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo León. Currently, dozens of people are being treated at local clinics.

Jorge Alvarez Maynez, presidential candidate of the centrist Civic Movement party, said that a gust of wind caused the stage to collapse in the municipality of San Pedro Garza Garcia.
