On the evening of May 11, at least 34 people have been killed and 16 others are missing after heavy rainfall and flooding in Forrest Gump County, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia.

A spokesman for the West Sumatra Provincial Disaster Mitigation Agency said that as of the 12th, 34 deaths had been counted, of which 16 were killed in Forrest Gump and 18 in Tanadata. At least 18 others have been injured and 16 others are missing, while local rescuers, police, soldiers and volunteers continue to search for them.
