On May 9, Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the Prime Minister’s Office in Budapest, and the two sides jointly announced that China-Hungary relations will be upgraded to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the two sides decided to upgrade the existing comprehensive strategic partnership to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.
The statement stressed that the Hungarian-Serbian railway project is a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative between the two sides, and is also a flagship project of China-CEEC cooperation. The two sides are willing to actively promote the construction of the Hungarian section of the Hungarian-Serbian railway project and jointly promote high-level connectivity in Central and Eastern Europe.
