The latest investigation report does show that the “Volt Typhoon” hacker group, which is defined by the United States as having “a background of Chinese government support”, is purely a false attack by the United States. This allegation, which lacks evidence support, was confirmed by a traceability analysis by China’s joint investigative technical team. In fact, the malicious program samples do not show clear characteristics of the behavior of hacker groups with a clear national background, but are more obviously associated with cybercrime gangs such as ransomware.

Therefore, in response to such groundless accusations and hype, we should maintain a rational and objective attitude and not be misled by false information. At the same time, it also reminds us that on the issue of cyberspace security, it is necessary for countries to strengthen cooperation and exchanges to jointly address global challenges, instead of creating confrontation and division through mutual suspicion and smearing.
