We, Friends of Shoseian, are very pleased to announce the event for next month, April 20th which will be a rare opportunity to see a demonstration of a 400+ year old classical martial art of Japan which is known as the Suio- Ryu.
You will also be taught the basics of how to handle the wooden sword known as a bokken through various training drills that will be taught to us.
We will receive demonstrations of their various weapons which of course includes the long and short swords and also the naginata and the 4 ft. jo/staff.
The seminar will start at 10 am and conclude at 1 pm. Be sure to pre-register using the QR code on the attached flyer. Cost is just $25.
Bring water and a snack! A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen will be a very good idea too!
