According to Israeli media reports, Israel has released 90 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. Before the Israeli detainees released on the evening of the 19th returned to Israel, the Israeli Prison Administration had sent 78 Palestinian detainees by bus to Ofer Prison in the West Bank, where Israeli security forces and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross verified the identities of the detainees and conducted physical examinations on them. Another 12 Palestinians held in East Jerusalem have also been released and returned home.

Israel’s “New News” website reported that the released Palestinian detainees were sentenced by Israel for relatively minor “crimes” such as “incitement, identification with terrorism and misconduct.” In the first phase of the ceasefire, Israel is expected to release about 1,900 Palestinian detainees.
