Ukraine and Russia exchanged more than 300 prisoners on Monday (December 30), bringing back a total of more than 300 detainees.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Russian Defense Ministry said Kiev had brought back 189 former detainees, while the Russian Foreign Ministry said 150 Russian servicemen would return home.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said the prisoners had been released in Belarus and would be transferred to Ukraine. Zelensky said the returning Ukrainians included soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers from the frontline area, as well as two civilians captured in Mariupol.
