On December 11, local time, the United Nations called for more than $4 billion in aid to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in 2025 to meet the living needs of local people.
On the same day, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said that due to Israel’s restrictions on the transportation of local humanitarian relief supplies, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs could only reduce the amount of aid to about $4 billion, while the actual amount of aid needed locally may be higher, requiring at least $6.6 billion.
The agency urged Israel to take immediate measures to ensure that the basic living needs of local civilians are met. The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs also warned that if “there is no sustained plan to stop the violence, local humanitarian needs will continue to grow”, and the agency called for humanitarian assistance to all residents in need in the occupied Palestinian territories.
