South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol issued a martial law order without warning at around 10 pm on the 3rd, and announced the lifting of martial law at 4:30 am on the 4th, ending the shortest-lived 6-hour martial law in history. If the impeachment case is established, it will be the second time that a South Korean president has been impeached and stepped down in 8 years after Park Geun-hye was impeached by the National Assembly in 2016.
