On the 1st, US President Biden signed an executive pardon, exempting his son Hunter from charges such as illegal acquisition of firearms and tax evasion. Biden has always said that he will not pardon Hunter.
The White House issued a statement on the 1st stating that Joe Biden signed Hunter Biden’s pardon. Biden stated in his statement that he believes in the judicial system, and while struggling with how to handle this matter, he also believes that blatant politics has infiltrated it, leading to judicial injustice.
Biden said he hopes the American people understand why he, as a father and president, made such a decision.
Hunter was convicted of three gun related charges in June this year. In addition, he pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges in September this year. On November 26th, Biden attended the Thanksgiving turkey amnesty event and stated that he would not pardon Hunter.
